SkyLink Datacenter (Eygelshoven, NL) Complete failure of our infrastructure in the SkyLink

We have detected a failure. We do not have any further information.

However, contact has already been made with the ISP.

  • All services run optionally.

  • Current bills for the month: November 2022 must be regenerated by us. In addition, current account balances are incorrect, this will be synchronised with the accounting software after running our cron job.

    The Reseller API will also be available again shortly. Some small details will be revised at the same time so that we can publish a new version directly.

    There are currently two other errors on the homepage that are connected to our database. These will be fixed within the next few days, as they do not have a high priority.

    The partner interface will receive a minimalist update from the backend at the same time, regarding invoices and TeamSpeak billing. No change to be seen at this point.

  • There was an outage that hit our entire web infrastructure as well as our database host.

    We have already moved a large part of our web infrastructure to AWS in Frankfurt. We have now set up our database host redundantly.

    The partner interface is available again. However, we are missing some database entries, which we are currently reconstructing with the help of our backups and accounting software. Our homepage is also accessible again; the error was in the database connection. In the meantime, we have been able to stabilise this again. Unfortunately, some database entries are missing here as well, but most of them are already available.

    We will take further measures to prevent or minimise such an incident in the future. Further observations will be made and carried out.

    Mailserver (outgoing) Shutdown of mail.schleyer.email

    We will be shutting down our old mail server as we already have a new one in use.

    This is an action to compensate for the high inflation or to save costs.

    Mailserver (imcoming) Communication link failure

    We have experienced several disruptions to internal services.

    This affects the following services:

    • Mail server (incoming)
    • Other communication services
    • Team management interface
    • Telephone system

    The fault has been present on the incoming mail server for about two days. E-mails are delivered to the service, but not forwarded to our mailboxes. Accordingly, no replies are possible from our side. The same applies to our telephone system and other contact options. We are working hard to find a solution, but it will take some time.

    -- Your request must be processed urgently? We are already represented via our contact form and social media channels and are waiting for an answer from you.

  • After 48 hours of further observation, we could not detect any new errors or other problems. Incident is hereby closed.

  • After more than 24 hours, we could not find the error. We removed the redirection route, as no mailboxes were accessible.

    We set up our incoming mail server again and removed the redirection route. So that actually the delivery of emails to our mailboxes should be running again. Some tests are currently still running, partly we could conditionally reach our mailboxes from external services.

    In the meantime, our team management interface is available again. The reason for this was already known and was due to a misconfigured file. However, restrictions are still to be expected there as well.

    The telephone system is partially back in operation, a complete functionality can not yet be guaranteed - because our internal network seems to be very busy. This should resolve itself within the next few hours. Starting tomorrow, we expect full availability within our business hours.

  • We set up redirection for incoming emails. It can take up to 24 hours for the redirection to be properly active due to DNS changes. The telephone system has been given a reputation by the provider, so that an older status results. However, we do not yet know how it looks in the part.
